The first game in Division 1 saw Long Buckby FC at home to Wheatsheaf Weedon A and it was the away side that got off to a great start by taking both pairs games through Ozzy (100) and Max Murray (100 x 3) over Mick Feasey (140) and Ian Bow (140, 101, 100) followed by Bully (100 x 2) and Mick Doney (140 x 3, 100) over Ray Feasey (100 x 2) and Pete Shirley (140, 123, 100). The home side pulled one back when Ian Bow (140, 100 x 3) took the opening singles against Mick Doney (135, 100) but away wins for Max Murray (140 x 2, 121, 100) over Joe Gammidge (121, 100), Bryan Farmer (125, 124, 100 x 4) over Mick Feasey (140, 100 x 3) Ozzy (140, 125) over Ray Feasey and finally Bully (140, 100 x 3) over Pete Shirley gave Wheatsheaf Weedon A a comfortable 6-1 win and keeps them in the battle for the top spot.
In the second game it was Daventry Workers A who made the trip to Wheatsheaf Braunston and got off to a flying start by taking both pairs games when Ray Jones (127) and Taff beat Gordy Aldridge and Swanny (125, 121) followed by Brocky (100 x 5) and Screwitt (140, 100) beating Tommy Kendall (100 x 3) and Glyn Thompson (120, 100). They also took the opening singles game when Brocky (140, 125, 123, 118) beat Gordy Aldridge. The home side kept themselves in the match thanks to wins for Swanny (140, 100 x 2) over Ray Jones (140) and Gavin Taylor (100) over Taff but away wins for Screwitt (100 x 2) over Adie Maybury and Andy Winters (140, 100 x 2) over Tommy Kendall (121, 100) meant it was Daventry Workers A who came away with a 5-2 win overall.
The final game in Division 1 saw league leaders Slim Jims visiting Caseys and it was the home side who took the opening pairs game through Ricky Cole (100 x 2) and Dave Summerfield (100 x 2) over Rich Denis (126, 100 x 3) and Nathan Beahan. The away side hit back when Chris Archer (100 x 2) and Dave Burton (100 x 3) beat Steve Cale (117) and Gary Birch (100 x 4) to level the score. The opening singles game went to the away side when Rich Denis (140, 137, 100 x 3) beat Nigel Turland (140, 100 x 2) but the home side hit back with wins for Chris Gay (140, 119, 100 x 2) over Dave Burton (140 x 2, 123, 100 x 2), Ricky Cole (100 x 4) over Dave Harris (100) and Dave Summerfield (140, 100 x 3) over Andy Teale (125, 100 x 3). An away win for Rachel Harris (140, 125, 100 x 3, 85, 80) over John Gaul (140, 100 x 4) in the final game came too late and it was Caseys that gained an overall 4-3 win.
The first game in Division 2 this week saw Con Club A play hosts to The Peppermill and this was a thriller. The pairs were shared after the home side took the opening game when Ivan Lester and Robin Peasland (100) beat Ki Swain (135, 81) and Stuart Marshall (100) before an away win for Paul Butler (125, 100 x 2) and Troy Miller (160, 100) over Ray Hobrow (180, 100) and Stuart Coe Snr. The home side edged in front again when Ray Hobrow (180) took the opening singles game against Simon Gulliver but Paul Butler (140, 125, 100) beat Stuart Coe Snr (100) to make it level at 2-2. Robin Peasland (107, 100) beat Alex Miller (100) to give the home side the lead for the third time but Colin Summerfield (120, 100) beat Brian Seal to set up a final game decider, where Charlie Astill (100) held his nerve to beat Ivan Lester (129, 100 x 3) and give The Peppermill a hard fought 4-3 win overall.
The second game saw Bowls Club visit Daventry Workers B and this was a game dominated by the home side throughout. They took both pairs games when Gav Taylor (140) and Willie Taylor (100) beat Geoff Smith (134, 111) and Craig Alcock (100 x 2) followed by a win for James Taylor (100 x 2) and Conor Taylor over Derek Brewer and Mick Starkey. In the singles there were home wins for Gav Taylor (125, 100 x 2) over Geoff Smith (135), Rich Ludlow (121, 100) over Glen Brown, Tony Leedham (100) over Bryan Robins, Dave Keating (140, 100) over Craig Alcock (100) and finally Allan Taylor over Bob Polwarth (100). This gave Daventry Workers B a 7-0 win overall.
In the final game, Con Club B visited Wheatsheaf Weedon B. The home side got off to a great start by taking both pairs when “H” (86, 82) and Dave Bangs (134) beat Mick Mynard and Alan Thornicroft (100) followed by Paul Marsh and Will Yow (120) over Donna Taylor and Roe Binder. The singles brought a dramatic change as the away side gained wins through Bruce Andrews over Will Yow, Alan Thornicroft (121) over Thomas Babbings and Richard Lovesey (140, 100 x 2) over “H” (88, 81) to take a narrow lead. The home side made it all level when Dave Bangs beat Donna Taylor (92, 85 x 2, 81) and a win for Paul Marsh (121, 100) over Mick Mynard in the final game gave Wheatsheaf Weedon B a narrow 4-3 win overall.

However home wins for Dave Harris (100 x 2) over Iain Bow (140, 121) and Rich Denis (140 x 2) over Pete Shirley (180, 138) set up a thrilling finish and it was Andy Teale (100 x 2) who held his nerve to beat Joe Gammidge and give Slim Jims a narrow 4-3 overall victory.

This gave Con Club A an overall 7-0 victory.
The second game saw Dun Cow visit Wheatsheaf Weedon B and this also proved to be one-sided as the away side dominated throughout. They took both pairs games with wins for Nev Thornicroft and Keith Chapman (114) over William Yow and Nigel Jones followed by Steve Berry (100) and Rich Winn (100 x 2) over “H” and Dave Bangs (100). Away wins in the singles came for Clive Hart over Nigel Jones, Rich Elliot (140, 135, 121, 100 x 3) over Dave Bangs, Keith Chapman (123) over William Yow (100), Rich Winn over “H” and finally Nev Thornicroft (100) over Thomas Babbings to give Dun Cow a 7-0 win overall.
No sheet has been received for the final game between Con Club B and Daventry Workers B.

The away side then took the next three singles games through Andy Teale over Debs Farrant (100), Dave Harris (100) over Ozzy (140, 100 x 2) and Rich Denis (125, 100 x 5) over Max Murray (170, 140 x 2, 100 x 3). A home win for Bully (140, 115) over N. Beahan in the final game came too late and it is Slim Jims who go through to the semi-finals with an overall 4-3 win.
In game 2 it was an all Division 2 clash with league title contenders Daventry Workers B at home to Con Club A. The away side took the triples game when Simon Adkins, Stuart Coe Snr (100) and Robin Peasland (117, 100 x 3) beat Allan Taylor (100), Gav Taylor (100) and Connor Taylor. They then took the pairs game when Ivan Lester and Ray Hobrow (140, 100 x 3) beat Willie Taylor (125) and Rich Ludlow (180). The domination continued in the singles with away wins for Ray Hobrow over Tony Leedham (140, 100 x 2), Simon Adkins (100) over Dave Keating (140, 100), Brian Seal (125, 100) over Connor Taylor (100) and Robin Peasland (134, 100) over Willie Taylor (100). Despite a consolation win for Rich Ludlow (100) over Nick Coe (100) it was a surprising reversal of league form that saw Con Club A go through with a 6-1 win overall.
Game 3 saw the only Division 2 v Division 1 clash as Con Club B hosted Long Buckby FC. Not surprisingly it was the Division 1 side who dominated early by taking the triples game through Pete Shirley (125 x 2), Joe Gammidge (100) and Ray Feasey (100) over Bruce Andrews, Alan Thornicroft (100) and Donna Taylor then taking the pairs game through Ian Bow and Mick Feasey (140, 125, 100) over Roe Binder and Mick Mynard. The away side then took the first 3 singles games through Joe Gammidge over Bruce Andrews (101), Mick Feasey (140 x 2, 100) over Roe Binder and Ian Bow (122, 100 x 3) over Alan Thornicroft (100). The home side got on the scoresheet thanks to a win for Donna Taylor over Pete Shirley but an away win in the final game for Ray Feasey (140, 100) over Mick Mynard sees Long Buckby FC go through thanks to an overall 6-1 win.

The Peppermill showed why they are league leaders when Troy Miller (140, 100) beat Thomas Babbings (140) and Paul Butler (140) beat Dave Bangs to level the scores and set up a tense finish but it was Paul Marsh (100 x 2) who beat Simon Gulliver to complete a shock 4-3 overall win for Wheatsheaf Weedon B and condemn The Peppermill to their first defeat of the season.

A win for the away side came in the final game thanks to Stuart Coe Snr (140 x 2) aganst Rich Ludlow (121 x 2, 100 x 2) but it was Daventry Workers B who won 5-2 overall.
In the final game it was Con Club B who played hosts to Dun Cow. A home win in the first pairs game for Donna Taylor (100, 85 x 3) and Richard Lovesay (125) over Nev Thornicroft and Steve Berry was followed by an away win for Clive Hart and Keith Chapman over Alan Thornicroft (140, 100) and Bruce Andrews. The away side then took the lead when Keith Chapman beat Bruce Andrews but Richard Lovesay (140, 100) made it all square again when beating Steve Berry. The away side edged ahead again when Clive Hart (100 x 2) beat Roe Binder before the home side set up what should have been a tense finish when Donna Taylor (123, 100, 85 x 2) beat Nev Thornicroft. Unfortunately the away side didn’t have a 5th player and had to concede the final game to Alan Thornicroft to give Con Club B a 4-3 win overall.

An away win for Jock Jones over Brian Robbins set up a tense final game and it was Paul Marsh who held his nerve to beat Geoff Smith (111) and give Wheatsheaf Weedon B a hard fought 4-3 win overall.

With 16 pairs entered and a number of non-playing supporters it was a busy but enjoyable night of darts, with the competition played on 2 separate boards.
In the first round there were wins for Clive and Emma, Steve and Alison, Max and Debs, Rich and Lynn, Mick and Cara, Charlie and Donna, Dave and Rachael and finally Paul and Donna.
In the second round, Clive and Emma overcame Steve and Alison 2-1, Rich and Lyn beat Max and Debs 2-0, Charlie and Donna beat Mick and Cara 2-1 and in the final game it was Dave and Rachael who beat Paul and Donna 2-1.
In the first semi-final, Rich (180, 100) and Lyn (95) beat Clive (100 x 2) and Emma 2-0 to take their place in the final where they were joined by Dave (122, 100) and Rachael (100) who overcame Charlie and Donna 2-0.
This made the final a family affair and it was father and daughter Dave (137) and Rachael Harris (140, 100) who overcame Rich Denis (100 x 3) and Lyn Harris 2-1 to retain their title. Congratulations to you both again and thanks to all for supporting the event.

With the first half of the season now completed, it is Daventry Workers A and Slim Jims currently battling it out at the top.
In Division 2, Daventry Workers B visited Dun Cow and took both pairs games before going on to win 5-2 overall. The highlight of this match was a 136 finish and a 12-dart leg for Clive Hart of the Dun Cow
The Peppermill were at home to Bowls Club and dominated the game from the start to record a 6-1 win. This means they are still unbeaten at the top of Division 2
In the final game, Con Club A visited Wheatsheaf Weedon B and despite losing the opening pairs game came away with a 5-2 win overall.

Jacobs. The home side wrapped up victory with wins for Andy Winters (140 x 3, 100) over Andy Teale (113, 100 x 2) and Ray Jones (135, 100f) over Rachel Harris (100, 85, 80) so it is Daventry Workers A who gained a 5-2 win overall.
In game 2, Long Buckby FC hosted Caseys. It was the away side that took both doubles games with a win for Steve Cale and Gary Birch (100) over Joe Gammidge and Iain Bow (100 x 2) followed by a win for Dave Summerfield (100 x 2) and Ricky Cole (140, 115) over Ray Feasey and Ged Berrill. The match victory was quickly wrapped up by the away side when winning the first 2 singles matches through Chris Gay (180, 100) against Ged Berrill and Nigel Turland (100) against Joe Gammidge (123). From then on the home side dominated with wins for Pete Shirley (125, 100, 106f) over Dave Summerfield (100 x 4), Iain Bow (100 x 3) over John Gaul (140, 100) and Ray Feasey (140, 103, 100) over Ricky Cole (135, 100 x 2), but it is Caseys that came away with an overall 4-3 win.
In game 3, Wheatsheaf Braunston were at home to Wheatsheaf Weedon A. The away side won both doubles matches with a win for Max Murray (140, 132, 100) and Brian Farmer (100) over Tommy Kendall and Adrian Lewis (140 x 2, 135, 100) before Debbie Farrant (180, 100) and Mick Doney (140 x 2, 135, 100 x 2) beat Gordy Aldridge (100 x 2) and Gavin Taylor (140). The domination continued in the singles with wins for Max Murray (140, 100) over Glyn Thompson (121, 100), Paul Bull (140 x 2, 100) over Gordy Aldridge and Mark Parker (140, 100 x 3) over Addiye Maybury before Adrian Lewis (140 x 2, 100) gained some consolation by beating Brian Farmer (100 x 3). In the final game, Mick Doney (140 x 2) gained another win for the away side against Tom Kendall (180, 100) to give Wheatsheaf Weedon A an overall 6-1 victory which was actually much closer than it seems, as all 6 losses for the home side were by a 2-1 margin.
The first game in Division 2 this week saw Con Club A at home to Daventry Workers B. The doubles were shared after Richard Ludlow (140, 100) and Gav Taylor (123, 100) beat Brian Seal and Ray Hobrow before Con Club hit back when Ivan Lester (100 x 2) and Robin Peasland (100 x 2) beat Antony Leedham (100) and Willie Taylor. Away wins for Willie Taylor (100 x 2) over Ray Hobrow (140) and Gav Taylor (100) over Ivan Lester (100 x 2) were followed by a home win for Stuart Coe Snr (100) over James Taylor (100). The away side then took the final two games through Richard Ludlow (180, 100) over Robin Peasland (120) and Dave Keating (137, 100 x 2) over Brian Seal to give Workers B an overall 5-2 victory.
Game 2 saw Wheatsheaf Weedon B host The Peppermill. The away side took the first doubles game with a win for K. Swain (83) and Paul Butler (140, 100) over Thomas Babbings (100 x 2) and Hayley Parker (89) but Wheatsheaf hit back thanks to a win from Paul Marsh (140, 115, 100) and Dave Bangs (100) over Troy Miller (140, 100 x 2) and Stuart Marshall. The singles proved to be a very one-sided affair with away wins coming from Colin Summerfield over Thomas Babbings, Charlie Astill over Alastair Hawkeswood, Simon Gulliver over Hayley Parker (95, 82, 81), Troy Miller (140, 108, 100 x 4) over Dave Bangs (121) and finally Paul Butler (135, 132, 100) over Paul Marsh (100). This meant The Peppermill came away with an overall 6-1 win.
In the final game, Con Club B visited Dun Cow and it was the home side that dominated with doubles wins for Keith Chapman and Clive Hart (100) over Alan Thornicroft and Steve Binder (111) followed by Nev Thornicroft (140, 125, 100) and Richard Elliot (125) over Donna Taylor (89) and Roe Binder (99, 95). Further wins came in the singles for Keith Chapman (133) over Donna Taylor (81, 85), Nev Thornicroft (140) over Paul Hale, Clive Hart (140, 121, 100 x 2) over Alan Thornicroft and Richard Elliot over Richard Lovesey (100 x 2). Con Club gained a small consolation when Steve Binder beat Steve Berry (100) in the final game but it was Dun Cow who gained an overall 6-1 victory.
