A reminder that the presentation night for the Winter League is being held this Friday, 10th June at Daventry Working Mens Club. The evening will begin with the Divisional Cup final games - doors will be open at 7pm.

Only results of Fridays matches for the first half of the season will be included in the league table.

The fifth annual Joe Spooner Darts Tournament is to be held in Rugby on February 13th in aid of SADS UK. This is a very worthy cause and we hope some Daventry dart players will help support the event:

The AGM for the 2010-2011 Winter league will be held at The St James Club on Thursday 16th September at 8pm. Anyone wishing to enter a team MUST have a representative attend this meeting.

Presentation Evening This week saw the Winter League presentation evening. The night started with the divisional knockout cup finals. In league two The Dun Cow overcame The Bowls Club by 4 games to 0. In the doubles there were wins for Luke Spense (101) and Richie Elliott (140) followed by Nev Thornicroft and Clive Hart (100x3). Luke Spense (136,100) followed by Keith Chapman took the first two singles games but with there being no way back for the Bowls Club the game was conceded making The Dun Cow League 2 KO Cup Champions. League 1 saw The Workers host St James A. The Workers took the first doubles game through Matt Edgar (140,125,100x2) and ‘Wadey’ (140,131,125,100) only for Mick Doney (100) and ‘Hemps’ (131,100x3) to level the match. The Workers then took the first three singles games through ‘Wadey’ (121), Andy Winters (121,100x2) and finally Ray Jones (140,123,100) making The Workers league 1 KO Cup Champions. During the evening a competition was held by Paul Marsh called ‘Marshy’s Halve it’ with the proceeds going half to the winner and the other half to Paul’s chosen charity, winner of this competition was ‘Juice’. The presentation of the trophies followed with an entertaining performance by Mick Doney on the mike announcing the winners and runners up for all competitions. A mention must go to the fabulous performance of our musical entertainment of the evening, brother and sister act, Side by Side who had us all up and reminiscing the songs of our youth!!!! Special thanks from the Daventry darts league go to Ray Jones and Dave Hewitt for all arrangements for the evening including the selection of superb trophies; these just get better each year and the excellent buffet. Daventry darts league would like to send their condolences to Dave Hewitt on the sad news of the death of his father, unfortunately this meant that Dave was unable to attend the evening and see the results of his hard work.

The next league meeting is Thursday 24th June at The St James Club at 8pm, all teams wishing to enter the Summer league are requested to have a representative attend this meeting. All trophies are now due to be returned, please ensure these are returned as soon as possible.

The third Daventry Invitational competition was won by Burtie with runner up Bully. Many thanks to The St James Club and all players who attended.

The next invitational competition will be held at The St james Club on Sunday the 4th April. Anyone wishing to enter please sign on at the St James Club or alternatively turn up on the day. Entry fee will be £1. Proceedings will begin at 12.00 and the draw will be made at 12.15. Prize money will depend on the number of entries received.

Entries for The Charity Cup are to be submitted by the 25th March, late entries will not be entered. Some teams have expressed a desire to enter two teams, this has been accepted provisionally but may be reviewed if too many teams are entered. Will all teams please note the new format ie: team game first, then doubles and singles last.

The St James Invitational Tournament was won by ´Burtie´ with Runner Up ´Wadey´. Semi finalists Matt Edgar and ´Bully´. Many thanks to all who participated.

There will be a Invitational competition at the St James Club on Saturday the 29th August. Limited mto 50 entrants, cost £1.00 to enter, to register please ask for the sheet at the bar of St James. Prize fund of £150.00

All team entries for the Summer 2009 league to be provided by the end of June.

Could anybody wanting to submit a team for the Summer League please do so by June 30th, as we are hoping to start the summer league mid-July. There will be a one-off £10 registration fee for the summer league, rather than the previous £5 per game fee and this fee should be paid when submitting team entries.

The finals of the Singles and Doubles events are to be held on Wednesday 1st July at the Daventry Working Mens Club.

Open event at Long Buckby FC this Saturday has been cancelled due to lack of interest.

Unfortunately there have been very few players show an interest in the event that was to be held this coming Saturday, so we have been left with no choice but to cancel the event.

This is a singles event open to both men and women, details are:
